Irony
I usually try to avoid using the term irony just in case I have an Alanis Morrisette moment, but this one is pretty obviously ironic. The English only campaigners in Oklahoma (Choctaw word meaning "red man") are running into opposition from American Indians (or Native Americans if you like) who are unhappy that the laws will further adversely affect the survival of tribal languages. Supporters of English only laws claim that the legislation doesn't affect the use of American Indian languages, but in that case why don't they call the laws what they are.
